20th Suffolk Swimability Meet - 5th April 2025

​This meet provides an opportunity for all swimmers with a disability – physical, sensory, learning – to swim in a competitive setting over a range of distances and strokes, according to personal strengths and wishes.

Coach Development
Both Region and England camps are excellent coach development opportunities. Any coaches with experience of coaching disabled swimmers or those wishing to learn more about Para-Swimming are welcome to attend our regional camps. Any coaches interested in attending our regional Para-Swimming training should  contact David Metcalf for more information.

David Metcalf is running CPD for officials with Tony Ward on 11th October

Aquatics GB National Para Swimming CPD For Technical Officials
The next online presentation will be on Friday 11 October 2024 @ 7:00pm by Zoom, the presenters are David Metcalf and Tony Ward (WPS ITO’s).

​The CPD is an introduction to officiating at events that include swimmers with a disability, aimed at swimming technical officials, Judge Level 1 or above. This CPD will give an overview of Functional Classification System, Terminology & Sport Class Overview including knowledge of World Para Swimming (WPS) rules and rule exceptions.
​
The CPD is free and attracts 3 points towards the renewal of the BS officials Licence.

Swim England East Region Para-Swimming Development Day 2024

​East Region will be holding a Para-Swimming Development Day for athletes and coaches on Sunday 28th April at Newmarket Leisure Centre with the support of Carl Cooper and Louise King. The information flyer is available on this link.

East Region Para-Swimming Meet 2023

We are 7 days from our closing date for entries, this is a licenced meet and will allow swimmers times, to qualify for County, Regional and National meets.

We are holding for the first time since the Pandemic our East Region Para Swimming meet, on Sunday 17th September 2023 Licence Number 3ER231422, being held at the home of horse racing Newmarket Suffolk.

Competitors from outside the Swim England East Region are very welcome to enter this event for the purposes of gaining competition experience and to achieve a time in a licensed event, they will be eligible to receive a commemorative medals, if they are placed in the top 3.

Please find the conditions for the meet, entries close on Wednesday 23rd August 2023.

Suffolk Swimability Meet 2023

After an enforced break, due to the pandemic, we are planning to run the Swimability meet again in 2023. This is a great opportunity for new and experienced swimmers, with a disability, to experience competition. Attached is the application form for the event.
